  1. there was one for the nw-hd1 but it wasn't availible to the public, only administered by sony service centres.
  2. i'm with these guys, i'm mystified. maybe try deleting the 'MTData.mdb' in the \sonistagebackup folder as it is the only database in any of folders. can you run any of the exe files standalone from explorer? i can if that helps. omg2oma.exe etc.

    Help

okay when you say you've tried everything do you mean the full uninstall including the registry as noted in the stickies at the top of the forum? here is the address for the sticky http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=8071 if you have done all of this please post back. if you haven't then get moving & keep us updated
  4. it has to do with the way the himd formats the disc. the r30 is hardly a current model - so full backward compatibility was never going to happen. along with romb i'm not sure where you are going with this thread
  5. empire have you tried a/ walking away while it's 'hanging'? it has been repoted that it will in fact complete the operation, despite apearing to freeze or hang b/ doing smaller batches at a time? please report back wiht your finding if applicable
  6. have you got a digital camera? showing us a few pics may help. tbh i'm not sure how much we can help. so you are getting noise from the motor? will it still play a disc? or even recognise it? if not can you hear anything through the headphones at all, buzzing, static etc.?
  7. 700 series have traditionally taken one AA battery.
  8. just to confirm - neither of those players record minidisc. you do have a recordable or netmd to match them with, right? s55, ds70 have no recording parts. for me the answer to the question would have been a sony rh910 out in the next few months, not a now 3 generations old sharp dr80
  9. you've painted a disc or the unit itself? when you took it apart did you force anything? did you get paint in it? sounds like trouble to me
  10. there are a couple of these around that have a 9v cigarette lighter attachment. can't remember who manufactures tehm.
  11. also CDR +very cheap per unit
  12. i don't understand codec packs, with google & five minutes you can have all the codecs you need. except divx most of the video codecs are under 500kb iirc
  13. ^ charming aren't you? don't really enjoy interaction? that's why i recommended another site. be aware that imported electronics are often not covered by australian sony service centres so postage back to place of purchase can be a future cost to factor into purchase price. i have purchase around au$500 from bluetin have found the service to be excellent, even special ordering stock in for me at no additional charge. on the website they mention they will liase for you to local or japanese service centres where required.
  14. to be honest uk people should buy from australian webstores like this http://www.minidisc.com.au/default.php?cPath=2_48 au$4.95 is RRP here & the pound is 1:0.4 at present making them far cheaper, even with postage. for US residents its US1:0.8 not so nice.
  15. the postage for those two is not as pleasant from an australian perspective kurisu & minidisc.com.au is hampered by using australian delivered stock on the whole, so they can only discount on australian rrp.
  16. the fact that he mentions real player shows that SS is out of date. please pay particular attention to the updating sonicstage to 3.0 part of the forum.
  17. it's not really sony though, its 'strategic partners' sony ericsson. it is odd that the phone is being branded as a 'walkman' though - essentially that is sony electronics connect conection, if you will. would anyone here go out of their way to purchase one? i've been a ericsson fanboy since way, way back '95-6 i think but this doesn't appeal to me.
  18. you got boned. if you wish to format or uninstall you needed to use the backup tool in sonicstage before doing so. sorry p.s. you should upgrade SS to v3 from www.connect.com before you re-rip all the tunes again.
  19. try www.bluetin.com when they get them in. most of their stock is very well priced for the australian importer.
  20. yeah don't do it like that, they won't play on any other pc or installation of xp or sonicstage. omg/oma files are encrypted on a sonicstage installation basis, so even uninstalling sonicstage can comprimise access to your library. use the sonicstage backup tool included in SS, it'll take up a load of hard disk enough to replicate the library. goto 'tools' -> 'back up my library' & sit back to wait.
  21. they are still releasing the budget psyc modles akin to a 420d, in fact they just annouced the 430 will come in white/green & grey/orange[?] the e730 is still within 12 months of release, there are new kenwood & panas on the market as of last month off the top of my head. couple of years yet before they dry up entirely imo
  22. 80mins standard x2 or 4 for LP modes
  23. so this is official, it's a throwback to the 1st gen of bridging himds? will do all an nh1 can do bar recording? very odd release time imo
  24. obscure? sounds about right. synergy!
  25. does it work when connected directly to the usb on the computer? sony have stated that mds don't play well with usb hubs, although i've never had that problem myself. please provide computer & OS specs. if it is a hub problem & you can use a screwdriver then something like this http://www.cwol.com/usb/usb-2-pci-card-5-port-uc160.htm might solve your problem quite cheaply if you have a spare pci slot
