there is a review & conversation about it here http://www.t-station.net/forum/showthread....10&pagenumber=1 there is a bit on zdnet http://reviews-zdnet.com.com/Sony_Network_...6-31219623.html take internet reviews on amazon, zdnet &c with a grain of salt, ignorance in the pros & cons of the user reviews are rife.

Nh1 For Sale! $270 (obo) Also - Soundcard For Sale
atrain replied to Lashujin's topic in Classifieds
a little o/t but are they neo geo carts for the home system of the big ones for cabinet machines? i have a cabinet getting dusty & maybe some new games would make me pay more attention to it... -
do you have a time out or data limit on the dial up conx malcolm? it's around 30meg to update but it's a little more stable & has a slightly changed encoder if you do have any issues with 2.0 i'd advise you to leave the pc on overnight to get 2.3

A Little Question About The Atrac/atrac3/atrac3+
atrain replied to a topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
furthermore i've done it by accident IRL. tony you don't need to answer every post. -
is this about allofmp3 &c? i don't use them myself.

if you want loseless there is PCM. if you want compressed loseless then you really are picky guys. you could buy an ipod & use apple loseless.

i think i've asked before but i don't recall the answer. is it posible for poll results not to count as a new post? as i understand it a new vote on a poll counts as a new post even if no additional text is added. i find polls created on the whim of a bored user detracts from my level of enjoyment. cynical & irritable? yes

no. they are in theory able to be rerecorded 1,000,000 times. this is subject to disc errors, bad sectors & write errors like any disk. i doubt you'd notice any degradation after a years use.

A Little Question About The Atrac/atrac3/atrac3+
atrain replied to a topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
anyway i wouldn't advise unsing it. it feels closer to lp4 than lp2, lp2 for me being a nice blend of size to quality on a portable -
if you've updated SS via cnnect of planetMG it would have been done then, hence no change. if not i have no idea

A Little Question About The Atrac/atrac3/atrac3+
atrain replied to a topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
105 can be transferred to netmd aswell, at least it could with 2.0 - my copy of 2.0 pre-connect was a networkwalkman disk & that was the default setting. i wondered why the first disc sounded so crappy & re-recorded it paying actual attention. -
also remember the people on here giving you advice are unpaid volunteers. don't go balistic if your thread hasn't been answered straight away. don't SHOUT. don't start multiple help threads, all the sub-forums share the same users.

i think you may be boned. sorry to have to say it. the encryption on each track is unlocked using a key generated by an installation of sonic stage & each install has a unique key. you had the right idea & don't throw away the CDRs, because you just never know if someone might crack it one day... anyway for back up purposes use sony's slow but useful backup tool, included in sonic stage. good luck

nice one bland. esp. nice one kurisu. how much was the new server in the end? also i'm getting page loads 4-5x the speed of the old server. now the bottle neck is 50 something tabs all loading at once.
-
i don't think you'd want to force it. ss is a troublesome beast & not exactly reliable. you could course use the batch converter to do a whole lot at once but i wouldnt use while SS is transferring - leave it on overnight anyway this is a direct link http://sonicstage.connect.com/SMFCUSetup09152.exe if it doesn't work try http://www.connect.com

there isn't a standard 132 for 3plus so unless it's a non-standard [& perhaps useless to md users] 3plus it's just lazily quoted.
-
i just wanted to congratulate the staff here on the handling of the 2nd gen himd news. there was many irritatingly knowing days as kurisu waggled his eyebrows but once the tide broke thanks to mdcentre.nl [?] this place became the place with news, info & opinion with some clarity & intelligence. no pissing contest intended but the other main english md forum has barely noticed yet & the few threads just link back to here. excellent work fellows! if this is in the wrong section or entirely gauche please by all means take the action required.

if they don't have time to make a cup of tea while 10 pages load - on dsl, they'll know the new server is here. they? who am i kidding? i'll know that way!
-
using the last few updates would suggest that it'll be released randomly with no apparent pattern. almost as if sony wasn;'t paying too much attention. if you are registered with mora[nw japan] or planetMG [same asia pacific] you'll get an email offering a download out of the blue.
-
i'll probably get an nw-hd1, although i may change my mind when i see an rh10 in the flesh

no one would buy a himd as data storage unit unless they are really misinformed. the data thing is just a handy extra at a reasonable cost* compared to flash. *if you own a himd recorder, of course. not so cheap otherwise!
-
here is australia you can buy a 5 pack of twinkles, sony colour, standard 80 mins for au$8-14. himds are about au$4.80. you guys are getting boned

5mw amps are all very well but if you consider the high proportion of people who only ever use freebie buds or streetstyles i really doesn't matter to any but a small educated &/or anal minority. think about it... how many ipod owners of the millions world wide still sport stock white buds? it's because the 20mw amp sounds great with 128kbs mp3s

it's what i've alway done too. i'm not big on jukeboxes
