nope. you could save them as data like that but not as audio. there is an mp3 manager for mp3 NWs but i'm not sure if it's compatible so afaik nope.

audiocubes.com or minidisco.com would be the obvious importers if there are no north american options for you. amazon.com holds a decent range too my advice would be a mid to high range himd portable & player [say an rh910 & eh1], giving you a dedicated recorder with both realtime & net/himd computer access. given the cost of decks these days i'd think you break even on this combo. also the player would need to be imported but the player is again a domestic model. if you are happy with legacy mdlp [i am atm] then a cmt-333nt http://www.minidisc.org/part_Sony_CMT-M333NT+M373NT.html might fit the bill. it should be in domestic stores although they are still fairly expensive given the level of technology they employ. there a few users on here who have them.

can you open sonicstage at all? you will need to run the sonicstage update wizard. if none of that's working try running omgbkup.exe in your sonicstage folder. the obvious answer is that you need to run the backup tool to maitain rights to the library if you reinstall/reformat.

will it work open in the 1admin if you 'start'+'l' [softlogout] into another user? or will it accept another install for the secondary user? occams razor would suggest just using the acct that it works on.

support not playback. that is the term used for mp3 conversion for many md & nw units. if you check the packaging of the netmds in your sig they would say the same thing. the major issue with the je480 is that it requires a port to connect to the pc that is not supplied & has been discontinued worldwide anyhow. so buying this deck would only be useful as a plackback device or to record in real time.

also bluetin don't have any 2nd gen himd in stock, nor any of the newer nws. i did email a request for the release dates for both to update users here but they have so far neglected to return my message.

perhaps i allowed a little hyperbole to sneak into my point. cds, rw aside are not reusable, nor do they have the niche that helps form bonds & friendships over message boards. it's beside the point, i like md trading, a majority here would come down on my side but you are welcome to think as you like. it's not like you've been forced to trade mds now is it?

bland is in japan. mds are like oxygen there. they float around everywhere... mds are excellent for a mixtape, they are unbreakable whilst in transit, mdlp will play in every md unit from the last 6 years, the discs themselves are collectable & you can rerecod over them if you don't like it. blank 80min mds cost me about au$1.30, cdrs are about au$0.30 not bad for a reusable media.

that's quicker than itunes @192. maybe i should go to tboard & try & tell nuworld that... & get banned.

there was the alien ads, the break off netmd ads in prime time, the ads last year with the 'tail' people featuring a mznh1. all of these ads were on high rotation for quite some time.

i've had three or four problems since SS2 but nothing a little registry & reinstall over the top couldn't fix. since then only problems i've encountered are occasional problems connecting to the planetMG site for updates. even then waiting fifteen minutes & trying again has fixed that. btw i've alway run my mzn1 through a chainlinked 12 port usb hub. seems like what crashes for most isn't a biggie for me. O/T i love firefox but i'm less than impressed with a little bug i've been troubled by twice. firefox randomly deletes my bookmarks & cookies, if these things are 9 years old & have travelled from pc to pc to pc to pc like mine then make sure you have a backup.

that's what my question was going to be. it may well be that the unit is nearing the end of its life. if it does turn out to be an optical block problem, there may be very lttle you can do.

it was actually jbhifi at chadstone where i was told that they probably wouldn't be stocking then second gen if asles of the first are any indication. not really surprised given they high initial RRP.

okay have you checked the stickies at the top of the software support forum? make sure your windows is up to date & you are using the latest version of sonicstage - 3.1 please also list your pc specs

just keep trying. 3.0 for me kept dropping out during download, try a diferent time of the day. have you tried the second, more stable link?

a lot of etailers just copy & paste from sony press releases or other etailers product lists. the way sony's major announcments are made in japanese & the way they differentiate product options & extras for various world markets only contributes to the problem just take most product guides with a grain of salt & keep asking questions if it's not clear.
