Do a search on the canadian and UK ebay sites.

Search each one on ebay and look at the sold listings and see what they sold for. The EH1, NH3D, RH1, those will easily be $300 or above..

For Sale : Yamaha MD4S 4-track with two Data MD's and manual
Sony_Fan replied to eastbayarb's topic in Classifieds
Just curious, what exactly do these type of minidisc units do? What do they mean by 4-track? -
Could either Stephen or Jim comment if the above is correct?
-
Is it possible that the pre-recorded MD was made using a version of ATRAC just before Type-R was released? So if the copied MD was made using Type-R, I can sort of see why both would sound the same. Another thing, is there any difference in sound quality when using a Minidisc deck vs a portable recorder? They should both sound the same i'm thinking.
-
Yes, most pre-recorded MDs were made in the 90s before the final version of ATRAC SP (Type-R) was created. This is the reason why I used Michael Jackson Invincible MD which was pressed in 2001, after ATRAC Type-R was created. Yes, let us know. Do you have a pre-recorded MD pressed after Sony released ATRAC Type-R?
-
But if the audio source of a pre-recorded MD is the master tape, which has superior sound to a pressed CD (since a CD still has to be compressed to 1.4kbps), wouldn't the pre-recorded MD sound better?
-
Can you explain, what do you mean by pressed?
-
I think you are correct because even CDs are made from an audio source that is higher in quality. I have a pre-recorded MD album and the same album on CD. Unfortunately, I don't have an ATRAC SP recorder to do a simple sound comparison.
-
Just curious, what was the audio source for a studio Minidisc album? Was it a CD copy or was it the master tape? I'm just wondering which would actually produce better sound quality: CD Optical recording or the Pre-Recorded MD from studio? For example: Michael Jackson Invincible MD album vs the same album on CD copied to a minidisc recorder in ATRAC SP. Obviously, many of the pre-recorded MDs from the 1990s were recorded with an earlier version of ATRAC, and probably only a few were recorded with ATRAC Type-R.
-
Don't you already have these cases on ebay?
-
I agree, find a dedicated Sony MP3 player for your MP3s. I would only use Minidisc for ATRAC recordings, nothing more, nothing less.
-
You would also need to make sure that the deck or portable recorder has the last version of ATRAC SP.
-
If it was legal, you can take a rare minidisc and record popular music in ATRAC SP 292kpbs and advertise that on ebay and it would get more bids than if the minidisc was left blank.
-
This ebay seller is selling standard minidiscs with music recorded on them, with a label of the type of music that is recorded. He is getting bids on them. How is this different than selling a CD-R copy of an original CD??? http://www.ebay.com/sch/cu2d/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686

NWZ-S545 is the model number. Also has 6-band equalizer with Clear Bass (not as strong as Mega Bass, but it does the job).
-
Honestly, i quit using minidisc units to play MP3s. I went and just bought a Sony MP3 player. It has great overall sound quality and 16GB of space and it will play MP3s flawlessly and no software required. Just rip your CDs with iTunes VBR MP3 encoding and drag them to your player via windows explorer. It's a lot faster.

MP3 sound is crippled on the RH10/M100. How can you tell "hiccups?" It's recommend to convert MP3 --> ATRAC3plus 256 or higher.

NH-14WM battery vs NH-10WM battery
Sony_Fan replied to Sony_Fan's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
Thanks for the info! -
Yes he does!!! I'm glad he was able to help you out.
-
If a minidisc unit uses/requires the NH-10WM battery, will the unit work with the NH-14WM if it's pretty much the same size (physically)? Thanks.

RH-10 Battery Charging Problem SOLVED!
Sony_Fan replied to Kona702's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
Yes, I noticed that too when I had an RH10 with a depleted battery. I just left the AA case attached and overtime, the rechargeable battery started working again. Good tip! -
And the MZ-NF810 has Type-S?
-
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but if a minidisc recorder says it has DSP Type-S, how is that different than other minidisc recorders that have Type-R? I read the second post, but I did not see other posts confirming the validity of it. I read the Sony specifications for the MZ-NF810, and it says that it has Type-S for SP, LP2, LP4 recording, but it clearly states that it does not have Type-R for recording. http://www.sony.lv/product/minidisc-walkman/mz-nf810/technical-specifications#tab

WTB: NetMD or standard MD unit with ATRAC Type-R
Sony_Fan replied to Sony_Fan's topic in Classifieds
Can anyone tell me what year models (NetMD with optical input) had ATRAC Type-R? It seems that models made in 2000 and 2004 had Type-R.
