I'm only asking because I have a CD recorder, PS3, FM/AM/CD mini stereo system and all these have optical outputs. I once did an optical output recording from an Xbox 360 onto minidisc and the music sounded flat. It's all 1s and 0s right???
-
Is there anyway to know for sure??? I know that the analog outputs can vary in sound quality depending on the device being used.
-
The red light signal that comes out from optical outputs from CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, PS3, Xbox 360, computer sound cards, etc, is it all the same sound quality (assuming a standard CD is being played)? In other words, if I do an optical recording to minidisc from all of these devices with the same CD being played, will the sound quality of the recordings be the same.

FS: Sony Mz-Rh10, MS-907 stereo mic, 1gb hi-md disc

1 box would have (5) 1GB minidiscs. Is that what you have? -

Can you post pictures? And how many are in the new Sony 1GB box? -
Ok, now if a minidisc player has trouble reading the disc with sound dropping off and stalling, is this something more serious than just a dirty lense.

RH-10 Battery Charging Problem SOLVED!
Sony_Fan replied to Kona702's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
Yes, that's pretty much the only reason why I'm considering buying it. But I like to ask the seller alot of questions about the condition of the unit. I don't want to buy something that doesn't work or might not sell for much on ebay. And recently there was someone in Oregon craigslist that was selling 90+ used minidiscs with 12 prerecorded MD albums, all for only $30. I offered extra money for them to ship it to me, but they declined. So there are great deals out there! -
RH-10 Battery Charging Problem SOLVED!
Sony_Fan replied to Kona702's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
There are some people on craigslist who are selling RH10 and RH910 real cheap (unders $100) and most of them say that the rechargeable battery doesn't work. If it comes with the AA case, you can make it work again. I know a guy selling an RH910 with all the necessary accessories for only $60 and I think the battery is depleted but it comes with the AA case. -
Is there any danger using one of those minidisc lens cleaners or recording head cleaners? Any studies or experiences to support the use of them or to discourage the use of them? Thanks.

I also have this listed on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261189308213?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 U.S. shipping only.

I bought an MZ-NF610 with accessories from Tom. Everything is in great shape and works great! I really liked the way he packaged everything, made sure items were protected. Great seller. I highly recommend Tom if you're considering buying from him.
-
Did you buy the MZ-RH10 from that craiglist post? I noticed the seller doesn't have it for sale anymore.

$24 shipped

These have been posted on ebay. Unfortunately, I can not end the listing anymore without ebay penalizing me. So if you want to bid, here is the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261188787602?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 U.S. shipping only.

If it was on ebay, you're looking at around $100. It's very rare, supposedly. How about recording from a Super Audio CD or a DVD Audio disc and convert to ATRAC SP Type-R? That should be just as good as the master tape.

WTB: NetMD or standard MD unit with ATRAC Type-R
Sony_Fan replied to Sony_Fan's topic in Classifieds
I was able to purchase one from Tom in Rhode Island, MZ-NF610. Good price too! -
$17.50 shipped
-
I forgot to mention, I also have a few unused labels to include. Please PM me or post here if you're interested.

Avrin, I was wondering if there is anyway to include some sort of ATRAC normalizing software embedded into SonicStage? That way we can normalize ATRAC files before we transfer to MD or Hi-MD. Something like MP3gain, but for ATRAC files.
-
I think it's this one: It is a great sounding unit, even though I owned the MD-MS722 model. These units have ATRAC 24-bit encoding and Digital X-Bass! I think it's much better than Sony's MegaBass or bass output of Hi-MD models.
-
Nine are Sony brand and one is memorex. All are 80min and have been erased and ready for use. They play and record just like new. Cases are NOT included. $18 shipped to the U.S. only or I can take an offer from Bob T. I had these listed on ebay but the winning bidder never paid. So here they are!
-
But the pre-recorded MDs are made from the master tape. So Master Tape converted to ATRAC SP Type-R will yield the best MD recordings. Unfortunately, this can not be reproduced by our portable recorders or MD decks today.
-
Zahne, there is also a great little program called MP3gain. It can help normalize your MP3 files so that they sound about the same volume level. This way, you won't have to be adjusting the volume on your player too much. Very easy to use. I use it whenever I rip CDs to MP3, because alot of CDs don't have the songs normalized properly. Some are too loud, others too soft.

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/ele/3642349109.html This guy on craigslist is selling one for $50. Try contacting him.

In my honest opinion, Minidisc is superior to other formats only when ATRAC SP (292kpbs) is used. I prefer the raw sound of CD optical recording in realtime compared to using SonicStage to rip CDs and transfer music. Apart from ATRAC SP, i'll just use a regular Sony MP3 player.
