  1. There is a manual available for the RM-MC35ELK. And for most units that have custom EQ settings it explains how to alter this in the manual for the unit itself.
  2. Just picked up Empire Of The Sun on dvd, this has finally made it on to Region 2 with a new 2 Disc Special Edition. One of my top films of the 80's.
  3. I think you have to email them. If you download the pdf brochure from that page it has contact details including email and phone numbers in there.
  4. Hi - welcome to MDCF. Sounds like you need the MDAC repair tool from the downloads section to fix this. See this topic for more info: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=12123
  5. The Japanese A1000 definitely has english language support. As Acariss says, all the units in all markets can display the same languages. The only difference is that the default language for the Japanese version will be Japanese and you can then change it back to english via the menus.
  6. There's not many shows I watch reguarly - usually because I 'm too busy to be able to watch them every week. There's a few things I watch on the BBC when I can like Have I Got News For You, QI, and some others I can't remember. For series I really like I usually by them on DVD. For example all 5 series of The Sopranos, a few old series like Quantum Leap (Seasons 1 & 2) , and old comedy stuff like Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, The Fast Show. For the rest I usually watch BBC World a lot for news, things on Discovery like SuperStructures (I think this is what it's called), and the odd series on Italian TV. Otherwise I mostly watch a lot of films on DVD.
  7. No that's one I keep nearly watching. I always seem to pass it over in favour of something else. Not sure why. Will maybe give it a try.
  8. Just finished watching The Assassination of Richard Nixon with Sean Penn. Overall Rating: 7.5 Whilst I think the general themes of this film have been covered a few times before in other films such as Falling Down and Taxi Driver, this is a very good film, and yet again a brilliant perfomance by Sean Penn. This guy is such a good actor.
  9. Hmm well let's see: I have to agree with Volta, that Duvel is probably my all-time favourite Belgian beer, but there are just so many good Belgian beers including the trapist ones brewed in monasteries, white beers like Hoegaarden (in several varieties) that you are spoilt for choice. I also like english bitter's like Boddington's, and some other of the other local ones you can find in smaller pubs. General supermarket beers I buy are either Heineken, Kronenbourg 1664 and then sometimes some German beers like Warsteiner. Whenever I travel I always like to try the local beers, things like Chang beer in Thailand or "Simba" in Africa have both been good.
  10. I don't think so. As far as I know the Axia discs are only available in Asia. You may be able to order them though via some etailers such as Audiocubes, Bluetin etc..
  11. So did Minidisco and and MD Canada buy these bundles from Australia? Seems like a bit of a coincidence.
  12. It is unfortunately the case that only the Japan models have the full set accessories: -The Euro / US RH10's for example are missing the LCD remote and chargin stand -The World Tourist Model versions of NH900 came with the RM-MC40ELK I think. -The Japan domestic DH10P also features 2 USB cables
  13. Because the Japanese model comes with 2 - one long, one short.
  14. Count me in! Hi-MD / Hi-SP, international would be good. One question are we talking 80min discs formatted as Hi-MD or 1GB discs for the Hi-MD trades?
  15. Just got a new digital cable TV receiver - so a whole bunch of new channels to watch and a wireless antenna sender thingy to send the signal to the TV in the bedroom.
  16. We're going to have a fairly quiet traditional Italian christmas in Holland! We will have friends over for dinner on the evening of 24th (which in Italy is when you have your big Christmas meal as opposed to the 25th back home in the UK). New Year we haven't decided yet, but we will probably take a vacation in Janauary - hopefully somewhere warm!
  17. I would try Japan Direct. http://www.japan-direct.com/. Email them and ask them to mail you a quote as opposed to buying direct off the site.
  18. And the answer to the final question is indeed only MPEG1 44.1khz sample rate CBR/VBR 32-320 kbps. Anything else like MP2 must be converted to Atrac via Sonic Stage or re-encoded from the original source to MPEG1.
  19. Yes but we were talking about the 2nd gen I think. The RM-MC40ELK works with all 1st gen models without exception.
  20. It wasn't for my account as far as I can recall.
  21. I think you need to enable the "Enable 'Email Notification' by default" option in My Controls => Email Settings.
  22. Thanks for that Ishii, I may have to get this after all, as I am quite intrigued!
  23. I'll assume you've seen Ishii's pictorial as I think you had a reply in that thread. He is probably the best person to speak to with specific questions on this remote. Try dropping him a PM.
  24. Hi, welcome to the forums, I'll try and answer your questions as best I can. Yes and no - Net MD disks are fully compatible, most of the display screens show info but of course the date info or bit rate won't show up with NetMD discs (it just displays playmode SP/LP2/LP4 etc..). I haven't tried cover art with NetMD discs - I will have to try this and let you know. It can be used as an external hard-drive, but you ,have to use Sonic Stage or Simple Burner to transfer music. Don't worry though versions 3.2 / 3.3 are pretty mature, and the DRM on tracks can be disabled. Just as you would from any other digital camera - ie. via explorer when it is connected via USB. It automatically switches off after 30 seconds of inactivity. You cannot set it to always off however. I'm afraid not, changing to photo mode always stops music playing. As far as I'm aware yes.
  25. It hasn't arrived yet from Amazon, I will let you know though Ishii. I was interested to see you had Valery Gergiev & the Kirov Orchestra and Choir's version - I had read some comments that by getting rid of the pauses etc.. to get the whole performance on one disc that it lost something - but then I also read some favorable comments - what is your take on this?
