even thought the battery is not a lithium ion and there are no circuits in it . if it is completly dead it still may not charge. do you have a digital multi meter. can you measure the voltage across the batter terminals. it should never be 0.0volts if it is that may be why it wont charge.

MZ-RH910 - cutting out when recording from radio
THIS SUCKS replied to mercurius's topic in Minidisc
i think i have heard about something like this before.. i think its a defective disk! try again with a new disk! also while in recording set the unit to hold to make sure nothing disturbs the buttons some of the units have button broblems. the hold switch will disable them. -
i have several decks at home. they are from 1996 and on the first one i made about 250 recordings and now it cant record anymore. i bought it after it was already used from a pawn shop so i have no idea how much use it already had. i have another deck that i bought used and i made about 300 disks on it and it still works perfect. one thing i can tell you just from my general experience with cd lasers is that they do degrade by themselves over time and that is always an issue. i dont think buying a new unit would make a difference in life span because some new units have the lasers burn out quickly. if its working good. i would not be worried about it.

i think there is a spring inside. it may be broken!
-
open the shutter see if the disk is dirty! you can also try cleaning the laser.
-
your sp recording will sound better if you make the recording with a digital input on your new unit then play it back on the old one. sp recorded from sonic stage is really lp2 with padding bits to make it sp compatiable. this makes the sound much worse than a true sp recording

i know its up for auction but how much were you looking for a final price? -
wave is much better than any compressed format like wma,or mp3. always use wave. if you need to make it smaller for archiving then convert it to flac its a lossless compression...
-
how can i play 128k atrac3+on a hi-md unit. i dont have a selection for it on my pulldown menu. and i dont want to use lp2 132k because i think it sounds like crap.
-
there is no deck that does what you want it to do...

i am very interested in the decks! how much for each. i already have 3 sp only decks. it couldnt hurt to have a 4th but i really need an mdlp deck. please email me at covertbill1@hotmail.com -
i have a older version of sonic stage and it has a selection for ripping to 105k on the pull down menu.
-
has anyone listened to the old lp2 105k codec? i tried it on a standard md reformatted to hi-md you get 6hrs 10 min on 1 disk and i was stunned to find out that it seems to actually sound better than standard lp2 132k. maybe the hi end is cut off sooner? does anyone remember how the freq. response is compared to lp2 132k? if you haven't tried it give it a shot you will be surprised.
-
if its a hi-md you could get him a bunch of 1 gig blanks. they are about $5 each if he needs them.
-
they are still the only models that will upload legacy recordings.
-
if your unit has a line in just connect it the the radio headphone output and put a blank disk in and push record. you dont even need the computer.
-
if you are looking to get rid of it can i have it? i will pay shipping...
-
see if there is dirt or corrosion on the battery termnials. you can clean them with a pencil eraser. just make sure the pieces that fall off the eraser head dont fall into the unit.
-
dont they still make a standard md deck? i think teac still makes a rack mount md.
-
a while back there was a post about someone who replaced one. i believe they said it was easy.
-
i think the mono record mode is selected from the menu.
-
doesnt vista have a legacy mode that simple burner could use?
-
if all else fails you could try to do an auto calibration of the unit in service mode. but this is a last resort. you might make things worse but it already seems really bad.
-
it does sound like that. the unit he has is mdlp but it still doesnt work. maybe he got the model number wrong or its really just a broken unit.
-
so you can see the total disk time but when you push play it does not tick. if you have tried multiple disks then i think the unit is defictive. are you sure the disk is good. you can also try to make a new disk with the latest version of sonic stage .it can be downloaded here.
