  1. Thanks for the reminder Oz we probably need to edit the skins to script out the Ad's for VIP's & Premium members... I'll add it to the to-do list.
  2. What device is she using to listen to the files? The bookmark feature is a feature on quite a few audio devices, but it's difficult to say in your particular case without knowing the model.
  3. Looking at the requirements for V3.x it does say SP1 for Vista is required. I am running SP2 and it seems ok so far. Also which regional version of 2.3 did you have installed - US or UK and did you do an in-place upgrade of the same regional variant ie. v.3 US on top of 2.3 US?
  4. That's stange I have upgraded from version 2.x last week without any issue. What OS are you running on? The other thing you may want to try is adding the library application to the DEP exclusion list as I have had issues with previous version crashing on startup due to DEP. 3.x so far has been ok for me. I know some people however had have issues with syncing and the export of notes.
  5. I watched In The Loop on BD for the second time last night with some friends - absoulutely hilarious.
  6. I would take a look at this topic for how to completely remove Sonic Stage 3.0. Having done that I would reboot and re-install Version 4.3 from scratch. * Topic moved to Software section
  7. I think it's a bit of the best of both worlds - to keep the analogy going it's like moving to a new city with lots of new things to explore, and opportunities for meeting new people, whilst at the same time you can bring a lot of your old friends with you. After 4.5 years at MDCF I welcome the change.
  8. It looks pretty slick, especially the main index page. The SI logo looks nice in black & white too.
  9. We know what is missing, and Invision have been informed so it should be recoverable.

    Sony PRS-300/PRS-600

What color did you get Dura? I think the screen on the 300 is very readable from what I have seen on the net, very like that of the 505, although I haven't seen the 300 up close yet. I think we should do some pictorials of the various readers, maybe you could help out?
  11. I'd like to second Chris' thoughts and it is great to see the forums in their new home and running under the new software. I think this has been a mammoth task the complexity of which should not be underestimated. It has been largely successful although of course there will still need to be some things that need ironing out. I noticed for example you may need to edit some of the custom fields in your profile if you previously had accounts at both MDCF / ALC and / or SI as some of the info may have been populated into the wrong section. Please report any quirks or issues to the admin team or reply to this thread, and let us know details of previous accounts so that these can be merged if required. Abby - I think some of the links in your sig may be in the topics that still need to be merged in from the old Hi-MD section. We'll see if we can get that back in the next day or so. Hang in there..
  12. Minidisc.org as far as I am aware is owned by Eric (the webmaster) and not Chris. Thus all the equipment browser and that stuff is technically a separate resource for which Eric is responsible. However I'm sure we can put a link on the SI home page and in the forum and as Abby said there will be a re-direct on the forums.minidisc.org subdomain.

I have to confess, I have been overwhelmed the last few months and haven't been able to keep on top of some of this as much as I would have like to, so apologies, but I'll checking in a little more often now.
  14. Just wanted to say, I think the new forum looks so slick! - Great job Chris
  15. Sounds like some nice guitar going there - if you're into that sound you can try something like the album by John Coltrane & Kenny Burrell, or Paul Chambers "Bass on Top" or "Whims of Chambers". They are all really nice and easy to get into.
  16. * Moved to Software Discussion section
  17. * Moved to find your Minidisc section
  18. Had a day off, so caught up with some films. Watched Tokyo Sonata which I thought was really interesting with some great urban landscapes of places in Tokyo you never really see in films, Then followed that up with Matrix Reloaded also on BD - seemed to enjoy it a lot more than when I first saw it a few years back.
  19. Sorry it was the enter / menu button I meant. I haven't got an EH70, but assume the menu structure is similiar to the EH1 as it is a player only. So holding down the enter button should give you a couple of options one of which should be the Options Menu in which there should be a language setting.
  20. If you hold down the display button it should take you into the menu: Then hopfully you can find something like the following: 1) Select: 各種設定 / Option 2) Select: 表示言語 / Language 3) Select: 日本語 or English
  21. * Moved to Software Discussion section
  22. * Admin Note; last 4 posts deleted. Chris, Narp / Abby, I've had enough of this constant baiting & bickering. If you want to argue, please do it in private. Thanks...

I think $75 for a used one would be a little steep. They were available new & boxed from the ebay seller buyfromjapan for less than that a while back. He doesn't have any listed right now but maybe worth contacting him. That said it is a nice remote, in fact I don't think I've ever really used any other remote for years.
  24. Chris, we have a search facility in this forum, which I believe is also mentioned in the forum guidelines. The guidelines say "before bombarding the the board with rapidfire questions about everything under the sun, do a search" (or words to that effect). We also have things called pinned topics where items that have been judged to have been particularly useful are pinned to the top of the different sub-sections. For example this guide to remotes... http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=8147
