  3. I have a Sony PRS-505 Reader which I have had since July and it is great. Extremely well built, simple to use and a great battery life.
  4. Just watched Big Deal On Madonna Street (I Soliti Ignoti)
  5. ALC should hopefully be back up by Monday. Both MDCF and ALC were moved to a new server and there were some issues post-move for AtracLife.
  6. I am sorry that the site is still down, Chris is currently looking into it, but is still trying to work out the cause of the outage. Obviously he is trying to fit this in around his regular daily work schedule so it may still take a little while. Apologies for any inconvenience.
  7. I spoke to him yesterday and he was looking into it. We're still trying to establish what the cause was. But it's a good excuse for you guys to get busy posting over here.

Yeah, I'm working on it. :-) Sorry I took my eye off the ball.
  9. Sorry for the late reply, I was on vacation for a few days. I will try and speak to Chris this afternoon and will confirm the situation for you.

  11. Sony Europe has announced some firmware updates to Blu-Ray models. The BDP-S300 has firmware 4.20 available for download. Key features are Dolby True HD decoding capability (this was biggest feature difference between this and the BDP-S500) and BD-Java updates for improved compatibility with the latest releases. Available Here: http://www.sonydigital-link.com/hav/downlo...mp;f=FW_BDPS300 The BDP-S500 has version 4.00 available which offers BD-Java Updates only. http://www.sonydigital-link.com/hav/downlo...mp;f=FW_BDPS500

  14. Indeed, this was something that had already been mentioned as being desirable by some - I think it will probably happen, but just out of curiosity do you think having a wireless reader is such a big advantage compared to the current non-wireless model? I can see it being advantageous for maybe downloading newspapers on the fly and the such like but for books I generally load anything up on my reader before I go out. I guess I'm also pretty traditional in that I never really read more than one book at a time - I wouldn't mind being able to download RSS feeds out and about I guess.
  15. Excellent pictorial! The EH1 is still one of my all time favorite players. Thanks for your contribution.
  16. I went to the newly opened Sainsbury's yesterday, but unfortunately they didn't have any MD's. Will have to try some other branches.
  17. Just noticed that the number of members has now passed 70,000. Although not all of these are continuously active, welcome to anyone who has joined up recently
  18. Having recently moved back to the UK, I appreciate this tip! - Better yet there is a new branch of Sainsbury's that opened down the road from me yesterday. I will have to investigate.
  19. Hi! My name is Richard. I am one of the authors at the Sony Insider blog together with Christopher and Stan. I have previously collaborated with Chris at the Minidisc Community Forums. I recently relocated to London in the UK (after spending the last six years living in Holland) where I work for a financial and business systems provider. Interests include music (crazy german electronic, and various old school jazz), reading (especially modern North American writers like Paul Auster, Don DeLilllo and many others), watching movies and lounging around at the pub. A lifelong Sony gadget enthusiast, I am thrilled to be part of this exciting new venture and look forward to meeting you all.
  20. Have you tried adding Sonic Stage to the DEP exclusion list in the system properties? I had a similar problem with the Connect software for the Sony Reader and this solved it. Computer => Properties => Advanced System Settings=> Advanced => Performance Settings => Data Execution Prevention. Add the Sonic Stage Executable to the list of programs to be excluded.
